Previously in June 2004, KA-TE had won the IKT Product test "Repair Methods for Lateral Connections". Competing against 12 other methods of repair including "Top Hats" the KA-TE method was the only one awarded the standard "Good" Additional tests have been carried out since 2004 paid for privately by the individual manufacturers but none have achieved an equivalent test result in the last 5 years. The tests clearly illustrate the impressive and competent manner, that the "Method of Epoxy-Injection", along with the patented Shield-Placing-System used by KA-TE PMO to repair sewer pipes are amongst the best methods in the whole sewer rehabilitation market. The repaired sections not only looked better visibly, but the leak tightness (sealing) was also better than other methods. The test "Repair Methods for Main Sewers" was conducted by the independent German "Institution for Underground Infrastructure IKT", of Gelsenkirchen, Germany, together with 26 sewer network operators during Spring 2009. The test assessed 11 other methods including "In-Liners" and the KATE-PMO method achieved the best test result with a standard "Good" (1.6) The test results were published on the 30th of July.
